How can I activate my people?

Let's make sure you offer great benefits, and that your employees use them.

What is an active person?

An active person on Kota, is an employee who has received their invite to Kota, downloaded the app, and enrolled in a health plan. They have received their benefits. We want employees to use their benefits, so we will not charge you until your people are active. So if someone has downloaded the app, and hasn't joined a healthcare plan, you will not be charged.

Where can I see who is active?

On your employer dashboard you'll be able to see how many staff members are active within your package.

Top tips

Here are some tips to make sure your staff activate:

1) Plans are for your people

Before explaining Kota to your people, have a think about the demographic and their needs. Is maternity cover something people are looking for? Is it dental care? Would a sports add-on be popular? Make sure you know that these plans are right for your people.

2) Educate and excite your people

Employees will want to know how Kota benefits them in their day to day lives. How can you make sure they know what benefits they're receiving?

  • Explain the product to them before they receive their benefits. Whether it's on your weekly Townhall call, or over email, explain to your staff the value of healthcare and pension, and how easy it is to sign up. It's not the most glamorous of topics, but it is important.

  • Explain the pricing. If you contribute to your employees healthcare plan, let them know the discount that they'll be receiving due to the employer contribution - everyone loves good value!

3) Check in with your people

In the app, you'll be able to see how many people are 'active employees' - that being the employees who signed up and are enrolled in their healthcare plan. If your staff members aren't active employees with Kota, check in with them. Sometimes during busy times, emails get lost, and important things get deprioritised. One quick check in could be all that they need.
