Once a dependant is added to your health insurance, they will be able to create their own access to Irish Life Health platform (if they’re adult dependants) and manage the policy up to a certain extent. This not mandatory, though, as you can still be the only point of contact if you want to.
In case your dependants create their own access, there are naturally some differences with your own rights, as you are the principal member.
Access
If your dependants download Irish Life Health's mobile app, and add their policy number, member number and date of birth, they'll get their own access to the Irish Life Health portal. They won't need to download Kota's app - in fact, Kota's mobile app is for exclusive use of the employees of the company who's paying for health insurance.
Due to the data protection policy, your dependants will only be able to see their own health insurance in Irish Life Health portal, and will only be able to make policy claims for themselves. They won't be able to see your or other dependants details/claims. Yet, you, as the principal member, will be able to see everything on your own Irish Life Health account: your dependants' premiums, their past claims or even add claims on their behalf.Policy number
You and your dependants share the same policy number and coverage. You only differ on the Irish Life member number, as each individual gets a different one. However, you’re all covered under the same policy. You might be asked to provide both details (policy and member numbers) when using the online doctor, or calling Irish Life Health directly. The policy number can be found when you open Kota's mobile app and tap on the Health Insurance section. Everyone’s Irish Life member number is displayed on your own Irish Life Health account.
Claims refund
Refunds for health expenses claims will be made to the same bank account (the one you have set up on Irish Life Health), no matter who adds the expenses. For instance, it's not possible for a dependant to receive their claims in one bank account and for you to receive yours in another bank account.
