Absolutely, that's not a limitation on the provider or Kota's end!
It's up to you as an employer to define whether or not you'd like your employees to add dependants to their health insurance and, if they do, who pays for that premium increase. This means that adding dependants should always go through you as the employer, as the employer determines these aspects.
If you decide to add any dependants to one or more employees, you can do that at the initial stage (when requesting the group policy quote from the provider) or at renewal.
There are certain exceptions to add dependants to a policy mid-year. As long as there’s a justifying life event - such as getting married, or giving birth, for instance -, you can also request Kota to add your employee’s spouse or newborn child to the plan. Email us the list of the employees that will be adding dependants, the relevant life event that is backing up their request, and the dependants’ details:
Name
DOB
Relationship with the employee
Address
Gender (preferred)
Whether they have health insurance already
Email address (for adult dependants only)
Once we get all these details, we'll request the provider to add those dependants to your group plan.
