How long does it take for my benefits to be active?

It depends on the benefit, namely its respective provider and the country it refers to. Check all the details below:

Ireland

  • Health insurance with Irish Life Health

    It will be active as soon as you confirm your plan selection in the mobile app.

  • Pension with Irish Life
    Your pension is set up as soon as you enrol and define your contribution percentage in Kota’s mobile app. Contributions will be taken to your pot from the next payroll onwards (if you enrol before the 10th of the month; otherwise, only on the following month’s payroll). However, your access to the Irish Life Portal (Pension Planet) might be slightly delayed. If you’ve enrolled in a scheme that was recently created by your employer, it might still be in its installation phase with Irish Life, as the provider has Revenue and Regulatory requirements they need to fulfil - this can take 12 to 16 weeks. If you’re joining an existing scheme, then you should be receiving your Pension Planet accesses from Irish Life about one week after enrolling.

  • Life assurance with Irish Life
    This is immediately active from the moment your employer enables it on Kota’s mobile app. There's no need for activation on your end.

UK

  • Health insurance with Vitality
    This is immediately active from the moment your employer enables it on Kota’s mobile app. There's no need for activation on your end.

  • Pension with Smart Pension
    You’ll start contributing to your pension pot as soon as your employer marks you as an eligible/opting-in member and sends contributions to Smart Pension (these will be reflected in your payslip).

International

  • Health insurance with Allianz
    It will be active within 2 working days from the moment you’ve selected your preferred plan in Kota’s mobile app.
