If you already have health insurance with another provider and you're considering cancelling it to join your employer's healthcare plan instead, no cancellation fees should be charged - as long as you clearly state you’re cancelling to join a corporate scheme. This should be applicable whether you’re the principal member of that health insurance, or a dependant.

If you're not within the first 14 days of your personal health insurance (the cooling-off period in which you can cancel with no questions asked), your provider may ask you for a membership certificate after you enrol with your employer's health insurance. This is to make sure that you're joining a company plan, and you're not just cancelling mid-term for other reasons. You can provide them with your new policy number as soon as you enrol in health insurance through Kota’s mobile app.

Note that while enrolling for the new health insurance in Kota, you will be prompted to add provide the details of your previous policy. If you have any ongoing waiting period in your current health insurance, this will travel with you to your employer's health insurance plan.
