How much do I have to pay?
Updated over 7 months ago

It's completely free for employees to join and use Kota.

How much you pay towards your benefits through payroll depends on how much your employer is contributing, and the plan/s you select. For example, your employer might have defined a health insurance contribution of €100/month/employee. You might choose a plan lower than this contribution, so you don't pay anything through payroll.

If you choose a plan with more extended coverage, or you choose to add dependents or additional add-ons, the final premium price might be over €100. This will be deducted from your salary every month.

For pension contributions, you'll be deducted from your salary the percentage you've agreed to set aside (in line with any applicable legal requirements). No other fees or taxes will be added.

Where can I check if I'll be deducted anything from my salary?

Your benefit contributions - if any - will be visible in Kota's mobile app. They might be displayed in a slightly different way, depending on your country and the benefit chosen.

Here are a few examples:

Irish and International Health Insurance

The image below shows when you start to enrol and check the different plan options. Where it reads 'Personal payment from' is the estimated amount you'll be charged from your salary if you select that plan:

This other image shows when you're enrolling and getting your exact final quote after customising your plan. The row that reads 'You pay' contains the amount you'll be charged from your salary.

Here below, it's how your health insurance will look in Kota's mobile app after you've already enrolled. If there's a difference between the 'Monthly premium' and the 'Your company pays' fields, that amount will be deducted from your salary. In this case, €0.84 would be paid by the employee.

Irish Pension

The image below shows when you're about to enrol in an Irish pension scheme and get to select what percentage of your salary you'd like to contribute to it. In 'Your estimated net cost is', you'll be able to see the corresponding amount you'll be deducted from your salary every month, after tax relief.

This other image is an example of what you can find if you've already enrolled in an Irish pension scheme. You can see both your and your employer's contribution percentages, as well as what this means in terms of net monthly deduction in your payslip.

Irish Life Assurance and UK Health Insurance

You don't have to pay anything. The full premium amount is paid by your employer. That's why you don't even need to enrol in such benefits. As soon as your employer creates it in our app and adds you to it, you're enrolled.

UK Pension

If you're autoenrolled in a UK pension scheme, you will see the personal contribution percentage, which is the salary percentage it will be deducted from your monthly pay.
