What are the minimum requirements for Group Life Assurance in Ireland?
Updated over 8 months ago

Group Life Assurance is now available for Kota employers in Ireland. To be eligible to receive a quote, there are a few minimum requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 people

  • An active pension scheme for your company*

Can I offer Group Life assurance to some people in the company?

  • When providing group life assurance, everyone in your company must be offered this benefit - you cannot offer Group Life Assurance to some employees, and not to others.

* In Ireland when setting up a Company Group Life Assurance, it must be registered with a Trust to be approved by the Revenue. Here at Kota, we use the Irish Life Empower Master Trust. Therefore to obtain Group Life Assurance, you must have your pension with Irish Life Empower Master Trust. Please note that not everyone needs to be added to the Irish Life Empower Master Trust, but there must be an active scheme with a minimum of 1 person on the scheme. Separately, everyone must be offered life assurance.
