How do I claim a health expense?

You can use Kota's mobile app to verify whether certain health expenses fall into your health insurance plan coverage, and up to what extent the provider is refunding them. Just tap on the health insurance tab and you'll be able to read your policy documents.

For all covered expenses, you can request their refund from Kota's mobile app too. At the bottom of your health insurance page, you'll see an option to 'Make a claim'. Tap there and you'll be requested to log into your healthcare policy account with your respective provider (these login details should have been sent to you directly by your provider when you set up your policy). See the example below for health insurance in Ireland with Irish Life Health:


From there, you'll see an option to make a claim where you can enter your receipt details. You should also ensure you've added your bank details there, so the provider can directly refund you once the claim has been approved.
