What’s changed in Irish pension and health packages?

Updated over a week ago

Why did my pension packages change?

To prepare for Autoenrolment, we’ve simplified how packages work. Now, one package can support multiple contribution levels, so you don’t need multiple versions for different employee groups. In this process, we had to rename a few packages, but we tried to remain the closest to the original name.

Did you change my employees' contributions?

No. All current contribution settings for employees remain untouched.

Why do I see new packages for health and pension?

If you had a mixed package (health + pension), we’ve split these into separate ones so you can manage each benefit independently. In addition, if you had multiple pension packages, we’ve merged then into a single one with all your employees, by setting up the package default maximum contribution to the lowest package you had originally.

What if a new joiner has a different contribution level than the default?

You can manually adjust contributions per employee after adding them to a package.

What are the new setup options?

  • Automatically add any new joiners based in Ireland

  • Employer-only contributions

  • Fixed contribution amounts

  • Employer contribution multipliers (e.g. 2x employee contribution)

Can I adjust my pension package now to be exempted from Autoenrolment in the future?

Yes! You can opt to auto-enrol all employees and set employer contributions, even if employees aren’t contributing. Just ensure all required data (e.g. PPS numbers) is in place.

Do I need to do anything now?

No immediate action is needed unless you'd like to enable automatic joiner enrolment or adjust your package defaults. If you’d like help reviewing your setup, let us know!
